  1. Only Woody Allen could drop an audience with a line like that! Hysterical!!

  2. Love it.

  4. I was eating eggs and almost spit them out laughing when he said “Go!”. Awesome clip!

  5. Poor little Woody – his mother was trying to get rid of him! At least she had a good sense of humor. Here’s a video on a more serious note:

  6. Woody Allen?! He is the one we need to watch out for considering he slept with his own stepdaughter. Yuck

  7. As for the second clip posted here – bodies (male and female) are not a crime, at any age. Intentions of others are.
As for the first clip posted here – if you don’t know the Woody of that era you’re never going to get it. Heck, if you don’t know that era you’re never going to get it!

  8. Well, at least he helps reinforce the statistic that if something happens, it’s most likely someone you know and probably in your family. 😉

  9. LOL Christian that was actually what went through my mind too.

  10. Yeah, there’s just a whole lot of sad irony going on there.

  11. I sent this to my mom with the message “clearly you were trying to kill me” playgrounds were so much better in the 80s… also in the 80s a 24 yr guy could be on a playground video taping kids….. it is an actually family video of me that i edited together…

  12. Woody’s stand up act is one of the most amazing, especially considering that he hated doing it. It was just a job that he took to pay the bills whilst he wrote his books.

  13. Woody is the funniest American since Mark Twain.

And if Soon-yi doesn’t consider him anything other than her husband, who are we to say otherwise?

  14. tommynomad: Being funny does not give you permission to be a predator. It is sick and disgusting to be a father to a young woman most of her life and then groom her to eventually be your wife. Nevermind the fact that he may have cheated on his wife with her daughter. It is sick and does at least prove the whole “Family members are the ones you really have to watch out for.”

so you know what Tommy, I say otherwise.

  15. Okay not to go off topic here, but Tommynomad, Allen’s son and Soon-yi’s brother also says otherwise.

Allen and Farrow’s biological son, Ronan Seamus Farrow, said of Allen: “He’s my father married to my sister. That makes me his son and his brother-in-law. That is such a moral transgression. I cannot see him. I cannot have a relationship with my father and be morally consistent… I lived with all these adopted children, so they are my family. To say Soon-Yi was not my sister is an insult to all adopted children.”[91][92]

  16. Lenore,
I am totally on board with the Free Range way of raising our kids but a clip of Woody Allen on your site made me almost throw my breakfast (oatmeal) at the computer screen.

This man is a predator. period. -in the same vein as Roman Polanski. Yet our society has conveniently forgotten that- like it’s had convenient amnesia for many other atrocities. No justifications or apologizing for him please. I wonder how kindly we would be to Ms. Farrow if she were to marry one of her adopted sons.

Surprisingly this man is not only, free to walk around (thanks pointless criminal justice system!) but revered as one of America’s favorite comedians. blarf.

  17. Yes, Heather I hate how celebrities get a pass about being criminals or horrible human beings because they have talent. Not okay. I won’t watch any Woody Allen movies. I also stopped watching Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt movies after the whole adultery thing. I don’t watch football, but now I definitely won’t after the Penn State thing and the dog fighting thing.

If you are in the public eye, you have an obligation to be a good person since anything you do will be broadcast to everyone. If you can’t handle that, don’t be a celebrity. Talent does not override morality.

  18. Adam had incest with his sister Eve; Lot’s daughters had incest with their father, and God chose one of their descendents (Mary) to be the mother of His son: Jesus. Maybe Woody was following his personal interpretation of the Bible.

  19. I agree with Lenore. He proves you should be more afraid of family than strangers. People or more likely to be hurt physically and emotionally by people they love and trust than strangers. I am new to this site but I do agree with your philosophy.
